The Wall by Ant Middleton is all about the mental wall we all come across which stops us from reaching our potential. Middleton tells stories from his life of when he met the wall and provides many different tips to try and break down the wall to allow one to live one's life to the fullest and reach one's potential. This book covers various topics such as the people you surround yourself with, not focussing on yourself, the plans you make, overthinking, self-belief and coping with loss to name just a few.
Again, This is another fantastic book from Middleton that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I loved how Middleton incorporated more chapters which were shorter, covering roughly the same amount of pages that his other books which I have previously read have covered. Middleton always brings something new to his books and this time it was the use of exercises within the chapters which was an outstanding addition to the book which I really enjoyed.
There are not really any criticisms I can make about this book. Middleton once again reflects and tells the stories of his life and experience and offers practical advice which provides food for thought. Some of the topics definitely let me reflect on my life and potentially more so than the previous books I have read. The one thing which Middleton could do to add value to future books is to include an alternative perspective at the end of each chapter, such as that of Emille which was present in Zero Negativity.
Rating this book has caused me some difficulty. I was going to rate this book 3 stars, and at the time of writing this review I have labelled this review as 3 stars but I feel I have no other option other than to raise this book to 5 stars as this book is virtually faultless offering great, practical and highly valuable advice. In my opinion, this book pretty much ticks all the boxes of the criteria I think about in my head whilst reading. I have to recommend this book to anyone who feels like they experience the wall. I really look forward to reading Middleton's next book.
