Books You Want Merch Of

Welcome to this week's Top 5 Wednesday post, the fourth of the month, with another one to come next week! Can you believe we are already in the fourth week of May? The weeks just seem to get faster and faster. I do love writing these Top 5 Wednesday posts for so many reasons. The one reason I love these posts so much is that many of the prompts can be really unique and make me think about things which I wouldn't ordinarily think about. It helps me explore new areas of the book world. This week's prompt is exactly that: books I want merch of. I don't recall ever really having any merch for any books before; it's not something I really thought about, nor am I aware whether it was actually a thing. Obviously, now that I know you can get merch for books, it doesn't mean I am going to, but I do know which books I would consider getting merch for, some of which are below. So, in no particular order, let us get into this week's post!

1. Cormoran Strike Series by Robert Galbraith

This week, I start with the J.K. Rowling Strike series, which is a great series of books. These are actually the first and only J. K. Rowling novels I have ever read, and they are such outstanding books. I think one of the things I love the most about these books is how there are a number of different genres in one book, including mystery, thriller, and romance, to name just a few. Many of the characters are also very likeable and so I think it is for that reason I would like merch from this series. What merch would it be? I have no idea, but maybe a mug or a flask would be nice? As mentioned above, I do not own, nor have I ever owned, any book merch so I'm not really sure what kind of book merch there is.

2. Bean to Bar Mysteries Series by Amber Royer

Next, I go to another incredible series, this time on Galveston Island. This series seems to make it on these Top 5 Wednesday posts quite a lot, which must be because of how enjoyable they are, again combining a number of genres into one book and the lovely community theme and feel to the book. Felicity not only makes what sounds like incredible chocolate but her friends and family seem to be amazing cooks who are always baking and cooking what sounds like extremely delicious dishes. I would, therefore, not only buy Felicity's chocolate but also a recipe book of all the recipes featured in this book. For those who are interested, although I don't think such a recipe book exists, the recipes are available on Royer's website.

3. Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before by Dr Julie Smith

This is the only non-fiction book on the list this week, but it is indeed a very good book, almost like one's personal therapist or self-help guide. Now, I'm not entirely sure how merch would work for this book, but maybe a variety of notebooks, mugs, key rings, and so on contain the advice contained in this book. Or Dr Smith could even write a mood diary-type thing to accompany her book. But to summarise, this book contains some really important advice which is very relevant to everyday life so not only is there scope for merch but I would definitely look into buying the merch.

4. Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie

Now, this is one of the most recent books which I have read on this list, and it's quite a good book, actually, especially for my first Agatha Christie book, which will hopefully not be my last. Now, I have not really got any merch for this book, but I would likely get it. Having said that, back in April of this year I did watch Witness for the Prosecution play in London, which was very good, and as such, they did have merch and programmes, but I did not buy anything largely due to being the tight law student who can't help but buy books whenever he walks into Waterstones that I am!

5. Shadow of the West by Sarah Brotherhood Chapman

Finally, I conclude this week's post with this historical, romantic, fictional non-fiction book, which was an incredible read teaching the reader about the Berlin war through fiction. This was such a beautiful book to read, and again, the characters were very likeable, so I would be tempted to buy merch of this book to help me remember just how much I enjoyed reading it last summer!

That is all for this week's post. I hope you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Please leave me a comment below, whether you want to say hello or tell me what books you have merch for or what books you want merch for. Also, in the meantime, do have a look around my blog. Other than that, I look forward to next week's post, the last one of the month!
