Public Law Concentrate: Law Revision and Study Guide (7th edn) by Colin Faragher

Public Law Concentrate: Law Revision and Study Guide (7th edn) by Colin Faragher is a comprehensive revision guide for any Constitutional and Administrative Law as part of a qualifying undergraduate law degree. This covers all the fundamental knowledge required for this area of law, including the rule of law, parliamentary sovereignty, judicial review and human rights, and much more. This is a very student-friendly book, making it great for both flipped learning pre-reading before a lecture or for revision before exams.

I really liked this book as it was written much more clearly than some of the public law textbooks available and really breaks down the subject into easy-to-understand information that the student can easily follow and understand. The book has case descriptions and a key cases and debates section at the end of each chapter to help give students a sense of direction in their revision. The exam tips throughout the book are also very helpful. The concentrate revision guides seem to closely link with and are formatted very similarly to the Directions textbooks, which are also a good starting point for any student new to the law.

There is not much I can say I dislike about this book although the topics could be explained even more clearly in some areas. Having said that, the book makes use of diagrams, which helps explain some of the ideas presented and also helps ensure this book caters to as many learning types as possible.

Altogether, I hate this book, 4 Stars, as it is a good book that clearly and concisely covers the Constitutional and Administrative Law syllabus in a student-friendly and understandable way. The Concentrate revision guides are arguably some of the best on the market for degree-level law students and so I would definitely recommend this revision guide.
