Being you by Daniel Thompson

Being You by Daniel Thompson is an amazing collection of poems about being positive covering themes like friendship, self-belief, confidence and failure, as well as many more important themes which often feature a large part of both children's and teenagers' lives.

I liked this collection of poems as they really draw the reader in with some of the deep themes and the successful use of many poetic devices and rhythms which give the poems some pace. I had a great time reading through these poems and found it extremely hard to put the book down, I really was drawn in and found some of the poems in particular were especially thought-provoking. I cannot say there is anything I disliked about this collection of poems. They were all very good.

I, therefore, rate this book 4 stars as it is a very good collection of poetry which really draws the reader in and makes it incredibly hard to stop reading. What's more, these poems talk about some really important topics but in a more interesting and creative way than many of the other books covering the same topics which more often than not take the form of self-help books. I would greatly recommend this book. I would like to thank both Net Galley and Collins Reference for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book in return for a positive book review.
