 Fake Law: The Truth About Justice in an Age of Lies is the second book written by The Secret Barrister and is almost as good as the first book. In this book, The Secret barrister is back explaining some common misinterpretations of the Law because of the media. We learn that sentences are right for each individual case but in order to come up with a valid opinion of the sentence, you must be armed with all the facts. Because the newspapers don't normally share the facts we can't come up with valid opinions.

I like this book for many reasons, firstly as an aspiring Barrister myself, it further introduces me to the whole subject of the law and different parts of the law. The Secret Barrister in order to debunk the Fake Law myths has introduced the reader ti many aspects of the law and given us a basic understanding of multiple areas which I have found very interesting. I also like this book as it helps you to understand that no you should not be angry when you read about lenient sentences in the newspapers because they may have missed out on key facts. I also like the additional chapter present in the Waterstones Exclusive Edition which talks about how you can put the theory of the book in action and reach an informed valid opinion on different criminal sentences.

There are not many things I disliked about this book. Yes, the book was full of long chapters but this was not necessarily a bad thing as it was balanced out with interesting educational facts and excellent case stories which were as fascinating as the book itself. This book also is not just ideal for those who have an interest in the law, this book has been written for everyone as has the first book by the Secret Barrister.

Altogether, I rate this book 4 Stars as it has been a very interesting read which has definitely educated me and I do not regret taking the time to read this book. It has indeed helped boost my understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the Law which will help me as it will everyone else as a citizen. I would like to thank the Secret Barrister for coming back with this great second book and I look forward to the next book. (Hint Hint, what will be next?)
