8th December 2020 Book Portal Advent

1. Improves your discipline- If 1 in 4 people did not read at least one book per year then there is obviously a discipline issue. There may be many causes for people not reading books such as the banter and gossip of the internet. TV is also a major distracter which is contributing to the extinction of reading. Making time to read is something we all know we should do but who schedules book reading time every day? It is very hard to find the motivation and time to read at times but it is something we all must try and do. That is why adding book reading to your daily schedule and sticking to it improves discipline and it is something we should all try and do.

2. Reading enhances memory- When reading books we need to remember all sorts of characters including their history, backgrounds and nuances. We also have to concentrate on sub-plots that are woven throughout the stories. Our brains have, fortunately, the power to do all those things with ease so we can connect existing memories with new brain pathways to strengthen existing ones. This is therefore particularly good if you have trouble remembering things.
