1. Builds your expertise- Brian Tracy has said one way to become an expert in your chosen field is to read 100 books on the subject. He also said by continuing the same for 5 years you will become an international expert. With the internet and blogs, you could hone that time down to 2-3 years if you follow through. This is all because books take years to write normally and are written by experts in the subject. These experts write about all the knowledge they have gained in their lifetimes and different experts would have gained different skills. If you read a variety of books, you will be exposed to loads of experts knowledge and you will be able to bring it all together to become an expert yourself.
2- Reading allows you to sleep better- Sometimes, people experience difficulty with falling asleep as their minds are racing and worrying about all sorts of things. I know from personal experience that this is not good because you are desperate to sleep but your mind just cannot stop thinking. Reading a book, if only for a few minutes can be very helpful to push whatever kept you awake from your mind. Print books don't produce the blue light that electronic devices do and the Kindle e-readers have been designed to emit minimal blue light and they direct the blue light towards the page rather than the reader. So after a long day, winding down and falling asleep will be easier and healthier and more beneficial than checking your Facebook page or watch some Netflix series. There are obviously some books which are more stressful and action-packed which won't help you as much but in general, reading helps you to fall asleep quicker.
