1. Gives you something to talk about- Have you ever run out of stuff to talk about with your best friend, wife, husband or colleague? This can sometimes be quite uncomfortable and awkward as you do not know what to say. It may even make married couples wonder if their marriage is in trouble. However, if you read a lot of books, you will always have something to talk about and teach others about it. You could discuss various plots in the novels you read, you can discuss the things you are learning about in the business books you are reading as well. The possibilities of sharing are endless when you are a reader.
2. Reading expands your vocabulary- Reading benefits our vocabulary so we can better communicate with the people around us and understand the word better as well. The more we read, the more words we are exposed to and, inevitably these words will make their way into our everyday vocabulary. Therefore, if we read lots of different books particularly from very successful people we will start using the vocabulary we have been reading and in many cases, this may make us sound more formal, more educated or just friendlier.
