1. Improves creativity- by reading more books and exposing yourself to new and more complete information, you will also be able to come up with more creative ideas. One example includes if you read many, many books on IT and computing when IT admins are stumped with a problem you may be able to come up with a creative solution that isn't written anywhere. But the reason you would be able to do this is because you have read so many books on the subject, you will be able to combine lessons from all of them into new solutions. This is not just relevant for computing either, this is the same for everything. This skill of being able to use multiple skills all in one is the top skill to develop for things like GCSE Maths.
2. Reading improves concentration- When reading a book, all of our attention is drawn to the attention of the story. The rest of the world around us falls away and we can immerse ourselves in the details of the book. We live in a world where the internet has taken over which means in the shortest time span, we need to focus on a million different things at once as we are all on video calls, snap-chatting and emailing throughout the day; all of that deteriorates our concentration. These more or less ADD behaviours cause lots of stress and lower our productivity. When reading a book, we focus our entire attention on what we read and our concentration if therefore improved.
